The Forum for Educational Change (FECH), within the framework of the project “Beyond Activism” supported by the Open Society Foundations – Western Balkans, announces an Open Call for small subgrants to support student and youth-led initiatives in North Macedonia.
This call aims to support informal student groups and youth networks to implement small-scale initiatives that promote transparency, accountability, active citizenship, and youth participation.
Proposed initiatives may address issues such as strengthening youth participation in decision-making, promoting transparency and integrity, improving study conditions, or addressing challenges faced by students and young people. Initiatives may include civic campaigns, public discussions, creative actions, or digital and community-based solutions that empower youth and encourage institutional accountability.
Available Support
FECH will support up to two initiatives, with a maximum amount of USD 2,300 per initiative.
The implementation period for selected initiatives is up to five months (To finish by mid October 2026).
Selected teams will also receive mentoring and guidance from FECH during the implementation of their initiatives.
Who Can Apply
The call is open to:
- Informal student groups
- Participants who have taken part in the CreActive Lab training
- Informal youth groups and networks in North Macedonia
Priority will be given to initiatives involving members of the National Student Body established in 2024.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a brief interview before the final selection. Please note that, in line with financial regulations, funds will not be transferred to private accounts. Instead, FECH will directly cover approved project costs on behalf of the selected initiatives.
